HOW I FOUND MY PATH IN HISTORY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

To be honest , Studing history and international studies wasn’t part of my plan at all because I had my desired career path. Right from my outset , my aim and ambition is to become a lawyer which makes me chose law on my jamb portal but I was given history and international studies .

Do you know the amazing thing about this ?? I started having interest in the course and understanding it better after attending few lectures.. The curiosity to know about diplomacy, global politics, historical issues and the rationale behind states interactions in the global system really opened my eyes and made me developed interest without forcing it .

The more I attended lectures, the more I felt connected to the course . The more I made my personal research on global and regional issues , the more I knew and realized that I have potentials to flourish in this field … this makes me more confident and motivated.

This journey undoubtedly taught me something important which I will never forget in my life .. Sometimes the course you never chose becomes the course that chooses you … Also ,what looks like a mistake sometimes, might be a blessing in disguise .

For illustration, Nelson Mandela Before becoming a prominent anti-apartheid activist and politician studied law at the University of Fort Hare and later at the University of Witwatersrand. His lifetime reflects on the fact that, what you intended to become might not be predestined for you .

I’m craving to know about your own journey and experience😊. What is your desired course from the start and what triggers the change ? Share your thoughts in the comments.

I’d love to hear your thoughts .

#History #InternationalRelations #Motivation #Africa #GlobalGovernance #StudentLife #PersonalGrowth

HOW I FOUND MY PATH IN HISTORY AND INTERNATIONA...
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
