It Was Right, Just Not Our Time

You liked me first.

I remember how you tried to become my friend before asking me out. And somehow, somewhere between the conversations and the little things you did, I started liking you too.

Or maybe I was just hoping I would.

You were calm, mature, and you always found a way to remind me that you liked me. You even told your parents about me. Sometimes I still think about that and smile.

But the truth is, you loved me more than I knew how to love you back.

I kept waiting for my feelings to grow into something deeper. I kept hoping one day I would look at you and feel exactly what you felt for me.

But instead, I got tired.

Not necessarily of you, but of trying to feel something I couldn't force.

And sometimes I wondered if you deserved someone who could love you without hesitation.

You tried. I know you did. But there were also moments when I didn't feel treated the way I really wanted to be treated. Maybe you were trying in the ways you knew how, but sometimes what someone gives you still isn't what your heart needs.

You were in your final year, and I was just starting mine. Maybe that was part of it too.

Because it felt right in some ways, but the timing wasn't.

My dad didn't want me dating, and I wanted to keep his trust. But if I'm being completely honest, that wasn't the only reason I left.

I left because I knew I couldn't keep accepting a love I wasn't sure I could return.

So I walked away from someone who cared about me, even though walking away hurt.

And honestly, some days I miss you.

Sometimes I want to message you and ask how you've been, but I don't.

Sometimes I imagine what it would be like if you were still part of my life.

I don't know if you still think about me. I don't know if you're angry with me. I just hope, wherever life has taken you, you don't remember me with hurt.

Maybe we were meant to meet.

Maybe we were meant to share those memories.

Maybe we were even meant to love each other for a little while.

But maybe we weren't meant to stay.

You were right,

I was right,

The timing just wasn't.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
