Life: a blink and its gone

Life. It’s a word that feels so big, so full of days and years stretched out before us. But in reality, it's just a blink. One moment you're here, with plans and people you love, and the next... it’s gone.

Yesterday, that blink happened for my favourite lecturer. One day, he was sharing his passion and knowledge with us, full of life and laughter. The next, he wasn’t. It’s a sudden, sharp reminder that the time we have is a gift, and it can be taken away in an instant.

It’s easy to get caught up in the small things, the daily worries and endless to-do lists. We often live as if we have forever. But seeing someone you admire and respect just vanish from the world makes you realise how fleeting it all is.

So what's the point? Maybe the point isn't to live a long life, but to live a full one. To really see the people around you. To tell them you care. To learn and to love and to be present in every single one of those blinks. Because one day, our time will be up, and all we'll have left are the memories we made and the impact we had. And I’m so grateful for the impact my lecturer had on me.
