Loneliness of Busyness (2)
<p>In the first part, I asked a lot of questions about busyness, what it takes from us and what it quietly hides.</p><p><br/></p><p>Those questions didn't come from nowhere.</p><p>They came from me.</p><p><br/></p><p>There are days I genuinely love being busy.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not because I'm overwhelmed, but because I enjoy having something to do. I throw myself into tasks until everything else fades into the background. I just want to get things done.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then the excitement wears off.</p><p><br/></p><p>I pause.</p><p>Sometimes, I stop out of frustration.</p><p>"Why can't I seem to figure this out?"</p><p><br/></p><p>I try to connect the dots, but eventually I give up.</p><p>Well... not completely.</p><p><br/></p><p>I only step away for a while, knowing that sooner or later, I'll return.</p><p><br/></p><p>But in those quiet moments, I begin to notice what my busyness has been covering.</p><p><br/></p><p>I reach for my phone.</p><p>I think of friends.</p><p>I think of family.</p><p>I want to talk. I want to laugh. I want to reconnect.</p><p><br/></p><p>But somehow, I don't know where to begin.</p><p>Maybe they've grown used to hearing, "I've been busy."</p><p>Maybe after hearing it enough times, they stopped asking.</p><p><br/></p><p>I can't really blame them.</p><p>The harder part is realizing that I've also become a stranger to the conversations I once longed for.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somewhere between chasing purpose and completing tasks, the loneliness of busyness caught up with me.</p><p>It wrapped itself around me so gently that I didn't notice it at first.</p><p><br/></p><p>Until one day, I realized that being occupied isn't the same as being connected.</p><p><br/></p><p>Perhaps busyness isn't always the problem.</p><p>Sometimes, it's the place we hide.</p><p><br/></p><p>In Part 3, we'll talk about finding our way back, to ourselves, to the people we love, and to the life we don't want to miss.</p>
