My Voice Between Lines

I was once a girl who could not express herself.

I had thoughts and feelings living quietly inside me, but whenever I tried to give them words, they seemed to lose their meaning.

I was shy.

Quiet.

The logical type.

And sometimes it felt like there was no one willing to listen to emotions that were far too heavy for ordinary conversations.

There were feelings too big, too complicated, to simply say out loud.

Then one day, I discovered writing.

Writing became my canvas—

a place where my thoughts could finally breathe and my feelings could move freely without fear of being misunderstood.

Through writing, my silence began to speak.

The emotions I once struggled to explain slowly found their way onto paper.

My pen carried what my voice could not.

With every sentence, I understood myself a little more.

With every page, I felt a little less hidden.

There were moments when quitting felt right,

when it seemed easier to put the pen down and walk away.

But writing made that choice feel wrong.

At the time, I didn’t fully understand why.

Now I see the reason.

Writing makes me happier.

It gives my thoughts a home and my feelings a voice.

I used to be the girl who could barely express what she felt.

Now I am someone who writes her way through the world.

And though I am still discovering what my writing will become, I know this much:

Every word I write is another step toward understanding myself.

And every page reminds me that sometimes the truest voice we have

is the one we find in ink.
