My Wife Took My Shadow
<p>Episode 3</p><p><br/></p><p>The moment I saw my wife’s car parked behind the old house, I knew the old woman wasn’t sincere.</p><p><br/></p><p>Something was wrong, terribly wrong.</p><p><br/></p><p>I pretended to leave, but instead hid behind a tree.</p><p><br/></p><p>Minutes later, the old woman stepped out again, carefully she walked toward the back door of the house.</p><p><br/></p><p>The same house she had sworn was empty for years.</p><p><br/></p><p>I waited until she went inside before I moved closer.</p><p>My hands trembled as I pushed the door open.</p><p><br/></p><p>The air inside was heavy thick with dust, candle wax, and something else… something rotten.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then I saw mirrors lined across the wall.</p><p>But what froze my heart was their reflection, shadows moved even though nothing else did.</p><p><br/></p><p>I stepped in quietly, scanning the room, then I froze.</p><p>There she was… my wife, kneeling before the old woman.</p><p><br/></p><p>They turned sharply. My wife was shocked.</p><p><br/></p><p>The old woman rose slowly. Her voice was low, cold, commanding.</p><p>“Leave now,” she said.</p><p><br/></p><p>I stepped back gently, then called the police.</p><p><br/></p><p>Within minutes, they arrived. The old woman tried to escape but was caught outside.</p><p><br/></p><p>Behind one of the mirrors, they discovered bones, burnt hair, and pieces of old clothing.</p><p><br/></p><p>My wife was taken in for questioning.</p><p>Hours later, she confessed.</p><p><br/></p><p>With a trembling voice, she said,</p><p><br/></p><p>“The woman told me my husband was the reason I wasn’t progressing in life.</p><p>She said I should bring a white chicken and other items.</p><p>She said I’d be free the day my husband’s shadow vanished.”</p><p><br/></p><p>My heart broke.</p><p>“And you believed her?” I asked quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tears rolled down her cheeks.</p><p><br/></p><p>"I was desperate. I just wanted more fame, more promotion… but since then, everything got worse.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“Please forgive me. I lost myself to greed.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I took a deep breath, my voice shaking.</p><p>“I forgive you,” I said softly. “But never again will we seek answers from darkness.”</p><p><br/></p><p>That evening, the old woman reversed everything she had done. But still remained in custody.</p><p><br/></p><p>My wife burned and threw away all she had received.</p><p>And as the smoke rose… my shadow returned.</p><p><br/></p><p>That day, I learned something I’ll never forget:</p><p><br/></p><p>Greed makes the mind believe lies,</p><p>and desperation opens doors to destruction.</p><p><br/></p><p>Hard work takes you to the top not magic.</p><p><br/></p><p>The End</p><p><br/></p><p>Another story loading......</p>
