Every Midnight, the Food in My Pot Disappears... Until I Did This
<p>Episode 2</p><p><br/></p><p>I thought hiding in the kitchen cupboard would finally help me discover how the food in my pot disappears every night… but instead, it turned into something else.</p><p><br/></p><p>The kitchen light had already gone off unexpectedly. Through the tiny crack in the cupboard, I tried to look. I saw nothing, only darkness.</p><p><br/></p><p>And then… soft footsteps. Slow. Careful. Approaching where I hid. My heartbeat thundered in my chest.</p><p><br/></p><p>I wanted to scream, but no sound left my lips. My hands trembled so hard. The footsteps stopped, right in front of the cupboard.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sweat rolled down my face. Tears streamed down my cheeks. My body shook. I whispered a prayer: “Oh God, please save me.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I closed my eyes. I held my breath. Then… I heard my pot open.</p><p>After a few seconds, it closed again.</p><p><br/></p><p>The footsteps began to fade. But just before they were gone, a faint, tiny voice whispered: “Goodnight.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I froze. My body turned cold. It knew I was hiding there.</p><p><br/></p><p>I didn’t move. I stayed in the cupboard, crying silently, until the first ray of sunlight came through the kitchen window. Only then did I run out.</p><p><br/></p><p>At work, I couldn’t focus. My hands shook. My eyes watered. That voice kept echoing in my head: 'Goodnight.'</p><p><br/></p><p>I was worried. I had just moved to this town, even borrowed money to pay rent. I couldn’t just pack up and leave. What should I do? Tears kept rolling down my cheeks. I cant imagine going back to that house, but I have no choice.</p><p><br/></p><p>A colleague noticed me.</p><p>“Hey… are you okay? You’ve been so quiet.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I broke down. “No, I’m not okay.”</p><p>I told her everything.</p><p><br/></p><p>She tapped me gently and said, “Don’t worry. Stop cooking for now. I’ll come sleep over for some days. Let’s see what happens.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Her words brought relief.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stayed with me.</p><p>One day. Two days. A week.</p><p><br/></p><p>Nothing. No sound. No footsteps. Nothing at all.</p><p><br/></p><p>I felt hope again. Maybe it was finally over.</p><p><br/></p><p>My friend went back home.</p><p><br/></p><p>But that night, after watching a movie, I decided to make myself a cup of tea.</p><p><br/></p><p>When I entered the kitchen, I froze.</p><p><br/></p><p>On the counter lay a folded piece of paper.</p><p><br/></p><p>It looked damp… as if soaked in tears.</p><p><br/></p><p>With trembling hands, I picked it up and unfolded it.</p><p><br/></p><p>My heart raced as I was about to read it.</p><p><br/></p><p>…The Story continues in Episode 3</p>
