Peace Beyond and Across the River
<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>She...</p><p>Once...</p><p><br/></p><p>She once sailed on a boat,</p><p>Taking the course of life; </p><p>With no destination in particular - just sailing </p><p>Being driven by the winds and waves.</p><p><br/></p><p>And on that voyage,</p><p>Caring less; and having no sense of direction of her own,</p><p>She followed the wind of deceit,</p><p>Obeyed the current of greed, and </p><p>Complied with the flow of disobedience.</p><p><br/></p><p>Oblivious to the sediments of guidance,</p><p>She sailed faster into carelessness.</p><p>Not willing to take heed to the meanders of correction,</p><p>She propelled faster into the eddy of downfall,</p><p>Submitted to the tributaries of non-chalance; and</p><p>Ended up in a channel of mayhem.</p><p><br/></p><p>It began with the keel,</p><p>And then the hull,</p><p>It started with a small crack; and then a chip.</p><p>Her sail was torn with lies,</p><p>And she couldn't control the rudder anymore.</p><p>Alas! her boat began to sink in the channel of misery.</p><p><br/></p><p>Providence sought her haven.</p><p>Her Nurturer beat her chest in grief,</p><p>Her Protector bowed his head.</p><p>The Nest was moist in pain,</p><p>And she was consumed with shame -</p><p>She had just lost the Anchor's dignity and trust.</p><p><br/></p><p>With her boat sinking in misery,</p><p>Fought the urge to drown in despair,</p><p>She was in the dilemma of having to choose;</p><p>To either end the cruise or continue the voyage.</p><p>She began swimming in depression,</p><p>And bathed with guilt and regret.</p><p>She had no resolve to continue the quest with shame.</p><p><br/></p><p>With a deep reflection on her repulsive adventure,</p><p>She made a big decision -</p><p>A resolution of change and resilience.</p><p>Shutting the thoughts of self condemnation,</p><p>And with the drop of trust from the harbour,</p><p>She began again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Painting the deck with strength,</p><p>Sewing her sail with threads of wisdom.</p><p>Cleaning the mast with integrity and obedience,</p><p>And repairing her rudder with courage.</p><p>Decorating the cabin with her scars,</p><p>To serve as a reminder - a reminder of error.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not being driven by the winds and currents,</p><p>But dictating to the velocity and waves,</p><p>And not giving way to foolishness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Resuming her odyssey,</p><p>And vowing not to make blunders;</p><p>Not willing to fail her Nest, and most importantly- herself.</p><p>Though tides appears here and there,</p><p>And she does make lapses sometimes.</p><p>Thus, she might not be perfect as she wants to be, but </p><p>She is better than who she was,</p><p>With a greater sense of responsibility.</p><p><br/></p><p>And there she was,</p><p>As the breeze of recollection brought these remembrance.</p><p>Amidst the golden yellow Sun setting,</p><p>Casting its glimmering lights on the river's surface;</p><p>As she passaged,</p><p>Sailing to an island of a better Her.</p>
