“Shadows Fade, Light Remains.”

It sounds so funny that something as certain as death is still treated like a rumor. We all know it will come, yet we live as though it is reserved for strangers, as if our names are not written in its diary. It feels so relatable until it happens to you then it stops being a story and becomes your reality. Death is the one appointment that requires no reminder; it arrives whether you are ready or not.

What makes death powerful is not just the end it brings, but the mirror it holds to our living. It strips away pretense and makes wealth, titles, and pride look like dust. The man in a mansion and the beggar on the street will both lie in the same silence. In death, hierarchy collapses, and what remains is the legacy of how we touched others.

The real tragedy is not that we will die, but that many live as though they have infinite tomorrows. We quarrel over trivialities, chase shadows, and ignore the weight of love, kindness, and purpose. Yet, every funeral whispers the same truth: life is a loan, and every breath is a repayment.

So maybe the question is not when death will come, but what it will find us doing. Will it meet us bitter, clinging to grudges, or will it meet us emptied, having poured light into others? Death is certain, but the meaning of our life is a choice we make daily.
