Thank You!

“Be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” – Psalm 100:4

The older I get, the more I realize: gratitude isn’t just manners, it’s medicine.

Author Jon Gordon once wrote:

“Two simple words – THANK YOU – have the power to transform our health, happiness, and success.”

And honestly, he’s right.

---
A little illustration from my life:

Yesterday, my phone fell and it started giving me multiple issues. I was boiling inside. But the moment I said "at least thank you God. It's not the screen this time."

I chuckled. My stress dropped. Gratitude turned phone wahala into a sigh of relief.

---

Research says grateful people are happier and even healthier. Think about that. It’s actually physiologically impossible to be stressed and thankful at the same time. The moment you say “thank you”, your brain floods with endorphins — those happy hormones that make you lighter, sharper, and stronger.

---

Another illustration:

One night, I tried Jon Gordon’s suggestion. Took a walk and just listed things I was thankful for — out loud. The man walking behind me probably thought I was auditioning for Nollywood, but my day instantly shifted. By the time I got home, I wasn’t carrying the weight of the day anymore. Gratitude is a detox.

---

Psychologist Martin Seligman even said: “Write a gratitude letter. Deliver it in person.”

Imagine reading that letter to someone you care about. He says people who try it become measurably happier a month later. That’s free therapy right there.

---

And it works in business too. Doug Conant, ex-CEO of Campbell Soup, wrote 30,000 thank you notes to his employees. No fancy recognition budget. Just paper, pen, and sincerity. The company came alive.

Sometimes, the most powerful leadership tool is a simple “Thank you.”

---
The TwoCents Takeaway

Gratitude is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.

Take a 10-minute walk and say your thanks.

At dinner, let everyone drop one thankful line.

Write that gratitude letter you’ve been postponing.

Say thank you at work — sincerely.

Because life will always give us reasons to complain, but wisdom says: look deeper, there are even more reasons to be thankful.

So today, pause and whisper it out loud: Thank You.

Your mind, your heart, and your destiny will thank you back.

My Thank You Note

Thank you Cyrus and Tobi for this lovely platform.

Thank you to everyone that has ever read, listened and engaged my insights.

Thank you to everyone that has ever tipped and/or subscribed to my Insights.

Thank you every member that would be doing number 2 and 3 above.

Thank you all.

©️Emmanuel Daniji

#Ink&Quill
