I came across a post on Facebook where the author shared a simple picture and wrote just one line:

“Poets in the house, do your thing.”

The image was ordinary at first glance: a neatly wrapped sweet on one side… and on the other, the same sweet exposed, crowded by ants.

What followed in the comment section was magic.

Different people. Different minds. Different lives.

Yet everyone was looking at the same picture.

Short poems started pouring in. Each one carrying a new meaning. A new lesson. A new mirror to society. That was when it struck me again: one image can hold a thousand truths, depending on who is looking.

So here’s my own TwoCents take on it — ten short poems, ten perspectives, ten different morals… all from one picture.

---

1. “Packaging”

They ignored the one dressed in gold,

And rushed the one standing naked.

Not everything valuable begs for attention,

Some things are protected by silence.

Moral: What screams isn’t always what’s worth the most.

---

2. “Boundaries”

One sweet said “come and take,”

The other said “earn your access.”

Only one knew the power

of being untouchable.

Moral: Boundaries don’t reduce value, they define it.

---

3. “Exposure”

The world didn’t attack it,

It simply noticed it.

And notice is often

the beginning of loss.

Moral: Not everything sweet should be displayed.

---

4. “Discipline”

One waited in peace,

The other entertained a crowd.

Noise gathered where control was absent.

Moral: Discipline is quiet. Distraction is loud.

---

5. “Social Media”

One kept its wrapper,

The other chased visibility.

Soon, likes turned to bites.

Moral: Not all attention is applause.

---

6. “Relationships”

The covered one was admired from afar.

The open one was touched by all.

Only one remained whole.

Moral: Accessibility is not intimacy.

---

7. “Self-worth”

One knew its price,

The other advertised its sweetness.

Guess which one survived the crowd.

Moral: When you know your worth, you don’t beg to be tasted.

---

8. “Success”

The wrapped sweet was delayed gratification.

The exposed one was instant pleasure.

One built value.

The other fed strangers.

Moral: Not every quick win is a wise win.

---

9. “Protection”

The wrapper looked like a prison,

But it was actually a shield.

Freedom without wisdom

is an invitation to damage.

Moral: Some restrictions are actually rescue.

---

10. “Life”

Life doesn’t attack what is hidden,

It consumes what is careless.

Preserve yourself,

or the world will help you finish.

Moral: How you handle yourself teaches the world how to handle you.

---

One picture.

Ten poems.

Ten meanings.

Ten different mirrors.

And that’s the beauty of perspective.

Now it’s your turn.

What do you see in this picture?

What story does it tell you?

What poem would you write?

Drop your own short poem, meaning, or moral in the comment section and join the challenge.

Let’s prove again that one image can carry a thousand insights.

— Emmanuel Daniji

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via

The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
