mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Because what do you mean you stop loving a piece of expression
you've always loved from an artist just because you've found their actions untoward
of late? </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br/></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">How do you convince yourself that much? Except you are trying to lie to
yourself they have never been that good or you are willfully depriving yourself
of receiving their art because of what they’ve become. That’s self punishment if you ask me.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br/></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">It’s a lot of psychological re-wiring of the brain and
the question herein lies how unique was their content or art form to you and how
grave is their scandal? The scandal could be the most bizarre and inconceivable
wrong doing, but I see no way that connects to their creative expression.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Especially
when that art spoke to a certain phenomenon in your life or it’s a source
of healing, or it constantly enlivens your spirit every time. In such vein, that
art is disconnected from the artist. You must seem them as two entities. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br/></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">It is not a hard thing to do in all honesty. Imagine trying
to convince yourself Brymo is not a good musician just because his character is
controversial. There, you are lying to yourself.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Or R Kelly’s songs aren’t uplifting
or shouldn’t be listened to because he is a criminal. This is not to say their characters
are not questionable or they shouldn’t be held responsible for their shortcomings;
but please don’t let good music suffer for it. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">And how will I forget, the <em>Odogwu</em>
himself – Burna boy. He’s a typical example of embodying a no-nonsense persona.
You will do yourself a great disservice and must have loosened a screw in your brain
to see his music and his lifestyle as same persons. Now I can understand if you’ve
never liked his music at all. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br/></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">I can go on and on. Not just musicians, film actors, painters,
whoever the artist is, shouldn’t be the reason why their art doesn’t interest you
anymore when you’ve always ingested them. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br/></p><p><!--StartFragment-->
<!--EndFragment--></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">They are different entities. A muse happened to fall on
them and they took it up and created. The work they put out was meant to be out
there regardless of the person. So stop punishing yourself thinking you see a proud
and arrogant Burna boy when you hear “Last Last”. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Or say Ronaldo is not a “GOAT”
in his own right because he can be blunt and outspoken about his feelings and desires.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US"><br/></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Now in some cases and one which I encourage, some artists are true embodiment of their expressions in their personal lives. While it can be lovely to see and sometimes make you better understand their art form, the art in itself is a whole entity and should be allowed disconnection from the artist. </span></p>
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
