The last Adhan

Amina was only sixteen when her father fell seriously ill. Every evening, she would sit beside his bed, holding his hand while he whispered words of remembrance of Allah.

"My daughter," he would say softly, "never leave your salah, no matter what happens."

One cold dawn, the call to prayer echoed through the village. Amina woke to silence. Her father had returned to Allah during the night.

Her heart shattered. The house that was once filled with his warm smile now felt empty. Many people came to comfort her, but nothing could replace the man who had taught her to love Islam.

Weeks passed, and life became difficult. Some days there was barely enough food to eat. Some nights she cried herself to sleep, asking Allah for strength instead of asking why.

Whenever she missed her father the most, she remembered his final advice. She would stand in prayer, tears falling onto her prayer mat, trusting that Allah never abandons those who rely on Him.

Years later, Amina became a teacher at the village's Qur'an school. She taught children not only how to recite the Qur'an but also how to be patient during hardship.

One afternoon, a little orphan asked her, "Do you still miss your father?"

Amina smiled through her tears.

"Every single day. But I know that every sincere du'a I make for him reaches Allah. I hope that one day, by Allah's mercy, we will meet again in Jannah."

The children looked at her quietly as she raised her hands in du'a.

That evening, as the adhan echoed across the village, Amina realized something beautiful: her father's voice no longer called her to prayer, but his advice still did.

His body had left this world, but his faith continued to live in his daughter.

"Indeed, with hardship comes ease." (Qur'an 94:6)
