The Unspoken Weight of Manhood.
Growing up, I repeatedly heard these words, "be a man". I kept on asking,"who is this man that is being referred to?"
I later got to understand that" this man" is honest, loyal, hardworking, selfless, relentless even while carrying the world on his shoulders, feels pain but never shows it, stands strong for family, friends and loved ones even when he is weak, "this man" is so much more.....

The sad reality is that these characteristics aren't still enough for the world. A man even after being the Superman of today, can still be viewed as Lex Luthor tomorrow.

A man's worth is measured by what he brings to the table, or how much his pockets can hold. So if I've not gotten the cars, houses, jobs, money, I can't be viewed as a man? So truly without all these,my voice doesn't matter anymore??

Why can't I be myself and still be appreciated?

Why can't I show my weakness and still be loved?

Why should I always be the hero of the story when I need saving too?

Can someone help me please???

When did I put on a real smile last? Oh, you can't remember because you refused to see through the fake smiles. You refused to see that behind that tough guy, there's a boy seeking for attention, love and wanting just to be heard for once.

I do hope every man out there gets a place of refuge. A place to call home. A place where he can be loved. And people around him who can boldly look him in the eye and say, "I LOVE YOU FOR YOU".
