The warning we often Ignore

The Warning We Often Ignore

What if the symptoms you keep calling “normal stress” are actually your body asking you to pay attention?

Amara was a young, ambitious student with big dreams. Her days were filled with lectures, assignments, responsibilities, and plans for the future.

But somewhere between chasing her goals and trying to keep up with life, she began neglecting something important, her health.

She frequently skipped meals, slept for only a few hours, rarely exercised, and dismissed recurring headaches and fatigue as ordinary stress.

“I’m still young,” she would tell herself. “I’ll be fine.”

Until one afternoon, her body forced her to stop.

After seeking medical attention, Amara realized that good health should never be taken for granted. Her experience taught her that being young does not make anyone invincible, and being busy is not a reason to ignore the body's needs.

From that moment, she became intentional about her wellbeing. She learned to eat properly, stay physically active, get adequate rest, manage stress, and seek professional medical advice whenever something seemed unusual.

She also discovered an important truth:

Health is not merely the absence of illness. It is a foundation for living, learning, working, and pursuing the future we desire.

We often spend so much time building our careers, achieving academic success, and planning for tomorrow that we forget to protect the very body that will carry us into that tomorrow.

Don't wait until your health becomes a crisis before you begin to value it.

Listen to your body. Make healthy choices. Seek professional care when necessary.

Because your dreams need you healthy enough to live them.

© Paul Opeyemi
