<p>What is love?</p><p>A garden that blooms,</p><p>only to wither in the same season.</p><p>A flame that warms for a moment,</p><p>then burns me to ash.</p><p>A river that soothes my wounds,</p><p>then pulls me under.</p><p><br/></p><p>Blunt love,</p><p>yet fragile as glass in trembling hands.</p><p>Hard love,</p><p>yet crumbles like petals in the rain.</p><p>It tastes of sweetness fading into bitterness,</p><p>honey soured with sorrow.</p><p><br/></p><p>Love that bends me until I nearly break,</p><p>then leaves me scattered on the floor.</p><p>Love that turns its face away,</p><p>yet leaves a shadow carved in my chest.</p><p>Love that listens with silence,</p><p>yet forgets my name in the wind.</p><p><br/></p><p>Love that wounds like a thorn in bloom,</p><p>that sings a lullaby too heavy for sleep.</p><p>A ghost pacing in my ribcage,</p><p>a storm that rattles my bones</p><p>and calls it shelter.</p><p><br/></p><p>Is love meant for everyone?</p><p>I cannot believe otherwise,</p><p>yet it keeps slipping from my hands.</p><p>Still, I long to be love,</p><p>to be the home where someone finally rests.</p><p><br/></p><p>But love is only four letters,</p><p>too small to hold this grief.</p><p>The spelling is simple,</p><p>but the meaning is endless sorrow.</p><p><br/></p><p>Strange.
