Unity

I had a class today where we had a discussion on the fact that the first lines of Nigeria's constitution is an entirely false narrative.

It begins by saying 'We the people of Nigeria'. People of Nigeria? That constitution was established on a military decree, basically meaning the people of Nigeria had no say in it. They just wanted to give it a semblance of legitimacy that's why that was put there.

Nigeria as a country has a long road of pain, turmoil and disunity. I mean the military rule that forfeited majority of the basic human rights is what our supposed democratic constitution is actually built on.

Some people argue that military rule is actually the best option for Nigeria, but then you want to surrender whatever illusion of free will you have for orderliness?

All in all those first few false lines of the constitution, I think, will inevitably be the solution to Nigeria. Unity. If we can just learn to come together as a country a lot of problems will have the beginnings of hope of solutions.
