Whose culture?
<p>When it's time to speak English </p><p>We speak it better than the best </p><p>As if we're never mixed with our cultural lifestyle </p><p>Speaking through our nose deserved no applause </p><p>But it deserves cultural pity for trading our image </p><p><br/></p><p>All that were global were once loyal </p><p>It's by bravery that they became global </p><p>The English language was as local as Idoma</p><p>But by bravery it became the world's language </p><p>Coca cola was as local as Kunu but..... Hmmmm </p><p><br/></p><p>To we owner A should be for Akpu </p><p>Tom and Jerry? Where's Dele and Ayo</p><p>Hence, when we teach A is for Apple</p><p>We program our kids to prefer 'outside'</p><p>Have we not despised our land? </p><p><br/></p><p>Then every kids master crafts</p><p>Kids were weaving Bamboo into baskets </p><p>They were molding mansions out of clay </p><p>They were building tins into cars </p><p>Farmers, press, jet and so, are they still clubs in schools? </p><p><br/></p><p>No man is literate if he can't access invisible treasures</p><p>Commitment to religious acts makes a man religious </p><p>No mam is civilised that's guided by the visible </p><p>I feel for my history when i think of those days </p><p>Because i don't know whose culture we neglect</p>
