You can't be everybody's spec

You can’t be everybody’s spec, and you honestly shouldn’t try to be.

The truth is, no matter how good your intentions are, there will always be people who don’t like you. Some may misunderstand you, some may judge you, and some may simply dislike you for reasons you may never even understand.

The Bible says in Luke 6:26, “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you.” That alone should remind us that having everyone’s approval isn’t the goal.

Don’t constantly change yourself, shrink yourself, or limit your personality just because you’re afraid of what people will say. Don’t make yourself smaller just so others can feel comfortable around you. Sometimes, you can give your best, be respectful, humble yourself, and still not be liked.

And that’s okay.

You’re not supposed to be everybody’s spec. You’re not supposed to fit into everyone’s expectations of who you should be.

Be yourself. Grow. Learn from your mistakes. Treat people with kindness, and make sure you’re not intentionally hurting or destroying anyone’s life. But don’t lose yourself in the process of trying to be accepted.

At the end of the day, people will always have opinions about you. Let them.

Just make sure your heart is right, your conscience is clear, and you’re staying close to God.

At the end of the day, you can do everything right and still not be everyone’s favorite—and that’s perfectly okay. ❤️

You don’t need everybody to like you to be on the right path. ❤️
