YOUR CIRCLE MATTERS

During the first holiday I had as an undergraduate, I noticed that things became weirdly different - the environment, the water, the food and even rarely-noticed items such as the beds and the pots. The seeming changes relating to the pots and beds and pots, especially, led to my writing this piece.

When I got home that day, I was famished so I went to the kitchen to check if I had any food prepared for me but my attention shifted from from the hunger that took me to the kitchen to something else when I got to the kitchen - the pot. While I tried to wave it off, I could not bring myself to terms with the fact that the pot I cooked with and was served from for years before I got admission now looked mysteriously bigger. I had to voice out my thoughts to my mum and siblings, but then I knew why I felt this way. For a while, I had been using relatively smaller pots to cook.

So, how does this relate to one's circle? The circle you are in most times determine how far you can dream. When you belong in a circle of small minds, you are will likely think short-term and achieve far below what you are capable of, and when you are in a circle of big dreamers, you become a big dreamer and an even greater achiever. Just as I thought that a medium-sized pot was too big due to my overexposure to small pots, so does constant exposure to petty and mediocre circles condition a person's mind to see valid dreams as too big or impossible to achieve.

Hope you found this helpful 🤗
