A Diamond With a Flaw
<p>“Better a diamond with a flaw</p><p><br/></p><p>than a pebble without.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I hold the truth of what they see,</p><p><br/></p><p>Yet doubt the diamond in my soul.</p><p><br/></p><p>My heaviest weight is insecurity.</p><p><br/></p><p>People don’t seem to make sense of it.</p><p><br/></p><p>I don’t feel an ounce of what they view,</p><p><br/></p><p>Though I long to see it for a change,</p><p><br/></p><p>To catch the light they claim is there</p><p><br/></p><p>Before my mind makes it feel strange.</p><p><br/></p><p>It isn’t every moment of my day,</p><p><br/></p><p>But most times, when I get inside my head,</p><p><br/></p><p>I strive so hard to prove my worth</p><p><br/></p><p>To hide the fractures that I dread.</p><p><br/></p><p>Yet flaws are woven into who we are—</p><p><br/></p><p>Inherent</p><p><br/></p><p>I want to look within and finally know:</p><p><br/></p><p>I am a diamond with a flaw.</p><p><br/></p>
