In Nigeria, “network is bad” is no longer just an excuse. It has become a daily reality that millions of people have learned to live with.

You want to send an urgent message the network disappears. You are trying to make a bank transfer the network starts misbehaving. You have an online class, meeting, interview, or important task suddenly, your data decides to take a break.

And the funniest part? We already know the routine.

We restart the phone.

We turn airplane mode on and off.

We move closer to the window.

We raise the phone up like we are searching for a signal from heaven. 😂

Sometimes, we even go outside just to get one good bar.

But behind the jokes is a serious problem.

Poor network affects our ability to scroll through social media. It affects students trying to learn, businesses trying to serve customers, workers trying to meet deadlines, and people trying to access essential digital services.

In a country where so much is becoming digital, reliable internet connectivity should not be treated as a luxury. It is becoming a basic part of modern life.

We cannot talk about digital growth, online businesses, remote work, digital education, and a connected Nigeria while people are still struggling to maintain a stable internet connection.

The frustrating thing is not that network problems happen sometimes. Problems can happen anywhere. The real issue is when poor service becomes so common that people simply accept it as normal.

We deserve better.

We deserve to be able to make a transfer without fear of failure. We deserve to attend an online class without constantly reconnecting. We deserve to run businesses without losing customers because a message refused to deliver.

Maybe one day, “network is bad” will become something we remember as a frustrating part of the past, rather than a sentence we say almost every day.

Until then, we will keep refreshing, reconnecting, moving around the house, and asking the same question:

“Abeg, where network dey?” 😂📶🇳🇬

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
