Bearing the Tide

*A Poem Inspired by the Artwork.*

She does not face the world,

Yet the world rests within her hands.

She carries oceans without complaint,

Cradling tomorrow in fragile bowls of blue.

Her back is a map

Drawn by years of silent labour,

Where every curve whispers

Of burdens too sacred for words.

Wrapped in the colours of her ancestors,

She wears history like a second skin;

Every shell upon her waist

Sings of heritage, womanhood, and home.

She is the river before dawn,

The tree that shelters weary souls,

The earth that yields abundance

Though no one asks if she is tired.

No crown adorns her head,

Yet dignity sits upon her shoulders.

No anthem announces her arrival,

Yet generations rise because she stood.

Beyond the canvas,

An artist traces each careful line,

Not merely painting a woman,

But preserving the heartbeat of a people.

She is every mother,

Every daughter,

Every sister,

Every dream carried farther than her own.

Look not for her face—

Find her instead in resilience,

In sacrifice,

In the quiet strength that refuses to surrender.

For she is the bearer of tides,

The keeper of life,

The soul of a continent,

And the masterpiece that never ceases to endure.
