BigDan's Playlist: I Love You - Amma

Track 6 — I Love You — Amma

---

The café had seen many stories.

Love stories.

Broken stories.

And the occasional story that should never have started in the first place.

But that afternoon, the door opened and brought back a memory.

Felicitas.

Most people simply called her Faye.

She had been away for months, only returning now because of family.

Her uncle, Tobi Igbinedion, had fallen ill.

Nothing dramatic. Just an intense cold that everyone blamed on his strange habit of avoiding the café’s hot coffee while constantly drinking cold soda.

Typical Uncle Tobi.

So while visiting him, Faye decided to stop by the café.

The same café that now belonged to Uncle Cyrus, who had taken over after her father passed away the previous season.

The bell above the door rang softly as she stepped inside.

And of course…

Rylee noticed first.

He nearly knocked his chair over standing up.

“Faye?”

She smiled.

“Still dramatic, I see.”

Rylee scratched his head awkwardly.

“You disappeared.”

“Life happens.”

She glanced around the café.

“Is Uncle Cyrus around?”

“He stepped out,” Rylee said. “But he’ll be back soon.”

For a moment they just stood there.

Rylee had always been younger than most of the girls who passed through the café. His energy pulled attention easily, but many of them saw him as too playful… too young.

But Faye never treated him like that.

Even before she left town, she had always encouraged him.

And Rylee never forgot it.

In fact, there was a particular song he used to play whenever she was around.

Back then, the song was everywhere.

I Love You by Amma.

He used to hum it jokingly whenever she walked into the café.

"I love you… I love you… I love you…"

Back then it was playful.

Back then it felt harmless.

But seeing her standing there again after all this time…

Rylee realized something uncomfortable.

Maybe he hadn’t been joking after all.

Faye tilted her head slightly.

“You’re staring again.”

“Sorry,” he laughed nervously.

“It’s just… good to see you back.”

She smiled warmly.

“Good to see you too, Rylee.”

At the other side of the café, someone had been watching the entire exchange.

Dolapo.

Her expression shifted the moment she recognized Faye.

Not surprise.

Something deeper.

Something like confusion.

Because if Faye was back in town…

Then the story everyone thought had ended months ago might not be over after all.

Dolapo slowly stood from her seat.

And then she looked toward BigDan’s table.

Where two very confused men were still staring at each other.

One claiming the past.

The other trying to protect the future.

Dolapo sighed quietly.

Because something about Faye’s return suddenly made everything feel connected.

And the song now playing softly from the café speakers didn’t help either.

---

Next On…

The café grows quieter as old memories begin to surface.

Because the next song on BigDan’s playlist will force someone to finally admit what they’re feeling.

But feelings can be dangerous.

Especially when they arrive at the wrong time.

Next Track:

Confessions Part II — Usher

And before the night ends…

Someone at BigDan’s table will confess something that could destroy everything. EVERYTHING.
