Congratulations. You Protected Your Pride and Lost the Friendship. ππΎπ

One thing about me? I'm shameless when it comes to the people I genuinely love.

If you're my friend and I know you're worth keeping, I'll fight for the friendship. I'll apologize if I hurt you. I'll listen if you tell me I got something wrong. I'll even be the first to say, "Abeg, make we talk." Not because I don't have pride, but because some friendships are simply bigger than my ego.

Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that a lot of us don't even try anymore.

Any small misunderstanding, the next thing is, "I don't have the strength." "I'm trying to make money." "I have too much going on." "If the friendship wants to end, let it end." "Abeg, I don't have time for all this."

Oya, it has ended. Are you happy now? π

And I'm just there like... what do you mean?

Who isn't trying to survive in this country? Everybody is carrying one thing or another. But since when did being busy become an excuse to stop showing up for the people who genuinely care about you?

Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation. One "I'm sorry." One "Let's sort this out." One "I don't want us to end because of this."

Instead, we'd rather let pride win.

Funny enough, some people will give a man ten chances because "love is complicated." But when it's a friend? One mistake and it's over.

Let me not even start shading some of you... you know yourselves. π

I don't have a lot of friends, and I don't want a lot either. I'd rather have a small circle filled with people who are worth fighting for.

To me, friendship isn't just about the good days. It's about choosing each other even when things get messy. It's about correcting each other, encouraging each other, and making room for growth. If we're both willing to learn, why should pride be louder than love?

So if you have friends who genuinely support you, pray for you, celebrate your wins, call you out when you're wrong, and still choose you despite your flaws, hold them tight.

Nothing dey these streets o.

Some of you need to apologize. Yes, I'm talking to you. π

If there's a friendship worth saving, oya, send that message. Make that call. Have that conversation. Your ego will survive, but that friendship might not if you keep waiting.
