DEMO CRAZY
<p>Democracy?</p><p>No,</p><p>According to what I was told;</p><p>It is a government of the people,</p><p>By the people,</p><p>And for the people.</p><p>That was a thought, a sheer opinion,</p><p>From a man who thought the leader should be determined by the led, not an authoritarian controlling the people like a herd.</p><p>My imagination turned out to be black and white as reality began to display true colours. Here I was basking in the hope that the majority holds the pen and the sword - the knife and the yam, but I was forced to adapt to a state where leaders call the shot.</p><p><br/></p><p>Shouldn't the led elect the leaders? I wonder,</p><p>Now the leaders select their leader;</p><p>Shouldn't we create the rhythm and the tune?</p><p>Now they create the music and we are forced to dance to it</p><p>Before they get intoxicated by power, they say " everything I'll coordinate"</p><p>But not for long they will loot all and subject us to subordinates,</p><p>We were told " your vote is your voice" </p><p>But how can we speak when our words have been reduced to mere echoes, our voices have been decreased to silence and we've been forced to adopt their idea of democracy.</p><p>"Don't sell your vote for money"</p><p>Even when we don't leaders still act funny,</p><p>Their manifestos are mere costumes, their promises a mask,</p><p><br/></p><p>All we want is the democracy we once dreamt of,</p><p>The democracy imagined by Abraham Lincoln,</p><p>The one that would make us soar like the eagle or falcon,</p><p>We've been forced to believe it's a fallacy,</p><p>But gradually we discover it's no fantasy,</p><p>Before us lies both versions of democracy</p><p>The one that makes us,</p><p>The one that mars us</p><p>What do we practice?</p><p>Democracy?</p><p>No,</p><p>Just a </p><p>round table for a demo of craze </p>
