Wetin come remain for my peace, my body, my choice?

People dey talk say marriage mean say man and woman don become one. But make I ask you: if we be one, why e go be say na only one person desire matter? Why my own no dey count when I no ready, when my body dey tire, when my mind no dey inside?

I no be wood. I no be property. I be person. I get feelings. I get days wey my body no just follow, days wey stress choke my neck like rope, days wey my head dey full and my heart just wan rest. That one no mean say I no love you. E just mean say I be human.

When we just marry, I believe say love go make everything soft. But I come see say love alone no reach. If you no fit talk, if you no fit listen, love go begin crack small small. Because silence dey heavy. Silence dey turn small wahala to big wall between two people wey suppose hold each other.

Sex for marriage suppose sweet, yes. But e suppose sweet for two people, no be say one dey endure and the other dey enjoy. Na connection, no be duty. Na choice, no be force. Na “make we do am together” — no be “I must take am because you be my wife.”

I don learn say the real intimacy no be how many times we touch body. Na how many times we fit talk true without fear. Na how many times we fit respect “no” without anger. Na how safe person feel to open up without shame.

If marriage go sweet, e no fit be cage. E suppose be place wey I fit talk my mind without fear say you go vex or feel rejected. Where you fit understand say my no no mean I no love you — e just mean I no ready now. And where my yes go be because I want you, not because I fear you.

Because if I no fit choose, then wetin I dey enjoy? If I no get voice, wetin be love inside am?

So me, Tene, I go still stand for wetin I believe. Marriage no cancel consent. Love no mean ownership. And respect no be extra; na the foundation.

And if two people fit hold that truth tight, then their love no go just survive — e go breathe.

____

Dear Tene... At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to 7 people with the best insights in the past month. The 7 winners are picked
by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

Monthly Score
The Top Monthly Contributors ranking is a monthly metric indicating how users respond to your posts, not just how many you publish.
We look at three main things:
1
How strong your best post is —
Your highest-scoring post this month carries the most weight. One great post can take you far.
2
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
We also look at the average score of all your posts. If your work keeps getting good reactions, you get a boost.
3
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
Posting more helps — but only a little.
Extra posts give a small bonus that grows slowly, so quality always matters more than quantity.
In simple terms:
A great post beats many ignored posts
Consistently engaging posts beat one lucky hit
Spamming low-engagement posts won't help
Tips, comments, and upvotes from others matter most
This ranking is designed to reward
Thoughtful, high-quality posts
Real engagement from the community
Consistency over time — without punishing you for posting again
The Top Monthly Contributors leaderboard reflects what truly resonates, not just who posts the most.
