Please, Let Me Talk About My Mama 😂❤️

I’m sure some people are already tired of me and my mother. 😂

Because tell me why I can bring my mum into almost every conversation?

We can be talking about food and somehow, my mum will enter the discussion.

We can be talking about relationships and somehow, I will say, “My mum once told me…”

We can be talking about school, money, clothes, life, people, literally anything, and somehow this woman will still find her way into the conversation. 😂

At this point, I’m sure some people hear me say, “My mum…” and immediately roll their eyes like, “Ahhh, here she goes again.” 😭😂

And honestly? I don’t blame you. 😂

But the truth is, I don’t even do it on purpose.

My mum is just a very big part of me.

She is in so many of my stories. She is in so many of my memories. She is in the way I think, the way I talk, the way I react to things and even the little things I do without knowing.

Sometimes I’m telling someone something and halfway through the story, I realise I’ve mentioned my mum again. 😂

But then I started thinking about it differently.

Why wouldn’t I talk about her?

Why wouldn’t I mention the woman who has been such a huge part of my life?

My mum is not just someone I live with or someone who gave birth to me. She is one of the biggest parts of who I am.

It honestly feels like she has half of me.

And yes, she does.

There are parts of me that only exist because of her. Parts of me that were built from her words, her sacrifices, her love, her corrections, her prayers and even the things I watched her go through.

When I talk about my mum, I’m not just talking about another person.

I’m talking about a part of myself.

Maybe that is why I bring her up so much.

Because I cannot tell my story without mentioning someone who has been such a huge part of it.

And sometimes, when I think about how much I love this woman, it honestly scares me.

I fear her death more than I fear my own.

Because I genuinely don't know what it would feel like to exist in a world where I can’t call her, hear her voice, annoy her, tell her random things, ask her questions or simply know that she is somewhere in this world.

I don’t even want to imagine it.

She has been my person for so long that the thought of losing her feels like losing a part of myself.

So yes, I will keep talking about my mum.

I will keep bringing her into conversations.

I will keep telling people about the funny things she does, the things she says, the lessons she has taught me and all the little memories I have with her.

And if you hear “my mum” for the 100th time in one conversation, please just manage me. 😂❤️

Because I have a lot of love for this woman, and I honestly don’t know how to keep quiet about it.

She is my mum.

She is my safe place.

She is a part of me.

And as long as I have her, I will probably keep talking about her like she is the main character in every story.

Because to me…

she is. ❤️🥹
