Lost childhood

That's me , lol</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>I was forced to grow up </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>I was literally a mini parent at 13 instead of a child </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>I don't remember being a kid anymore </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>In fact I'm not even sure I had a childhood</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Did I frolic in the grass? </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Was I ever innocent?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Was I ever young once?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Did I play with the sand??</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Did I play in the mud and stain my clothes with the dirt?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Did I throw tantrums over orange juice I spilled by myself?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>After insisting I could pour it without any help?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>When was it that I stopped remembering butterflies and waiting for the rain to stop so I can see a rainbow ?</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>When did I forget those glorious melodies of that ice cream truck?</em></p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/IMG_2448.jpeg"/><br/></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Or the countless times I spent hours riding bikes with my peers every 4pm.</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Or the times I feared darkness and left that cute little lamp on so monsters don't come out from under my bed</em></p><p><br/></p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/IMG_2449.jpeg"/><br/></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>For the first five decades of my life I have nothing to say.</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>That lack, that sheer absence </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Trials I had overcome </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Tribulations I've conquered </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Sights I've seen</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Tastes that savored my buds</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Yet I think back on my own years </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Nothing of sort.</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>I must have seen too much </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>I must have heard too many stories from friends </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Done a whole host of things I thought I'd remember for a life time</em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>But it all faded so quickly, that I asked myself if it ever did existed </em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em><br/></em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em><br/></em></p><p style="text-align: center;"><em>Was I ever really a child? .... or I was just this</em> </p><p><br/></p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/IMG_2450.jpeg"/><br/></p>
