Of motion and emotion
<p>Before the verse unfolds its frame,</p><p>let’s speak of force, and mass, and aim —</p><p>how bodies move, and hearts the same,</p><p>obey the laws that bear a name.</p><p>So listen close: in flesh and flame,</p><p>in Newton’s script, we read our claim.</p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>I.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>First, an object at rest stays at rest —</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>F = ma, unexpressed,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>until a force outside the chest</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>compels the heart from quiet’s nest.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>A push, a choice, a sharp unrest —</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>we only move when we are pressed.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>II.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Second: force equals mass times change —</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>a = F/m, arranged,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>so heavier hearts resist the strange,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>yet lighter souls more swiftly range.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>A law for how we rearrange</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>when life applies its force and range.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>III.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Third: for every action, known,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>comes equal opposition shown —</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>F₁ = –F₂ is sown</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>in every love and battle thrown.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>You push the world; the world’s your own</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>reflected push, in flesh and bone.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>IV.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>So physics lives in how we feel:</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>inertia, force, the turning wheel,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>the vectors of the heart’s repeal —</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>these laws in us are just as real.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Newton, in wisdom’s old appeal,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>wr</em></strong><strong style="background-color: transparent;"><em>ote down the truth our lives reveal.</em></strong></p>
