In Nigeria if they call you Olodo, just know you are gone, It's a Yoruba word that means zero, but if it means zero , Why are you gone? Well, It means you know nothing, zero, so if someone calls you that, it's practically an insult. Now what's the meaning of the term "Olodo uprising"?It's basically the increase of people promoting ignorant advice, uninformed content and topics and even adopting some ideas. An example of such ideas in Nigeria is "School is scam" And this particular idea has moved well due to the unemployment rate but nobody talks about how not knowing how to read, write, and communicate effectively affects you in real world, business relationships and personal relationships But people always say:" be unapologetically you,do you,be real." But the question that comes to mind is If I'm being me,Does it justify me promoting ignorant <a class="tc-blue external-link external-link external-link external-link external-link external-link external-link" href="https://ideas.Ideas" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" target="_blank">ideas, Ideas </a> that don't just affect only me but also generations to come? So a few days ago I watched a girl, very brilliant primary 3 girl debate on ''Garri is better than Rice,'' and it was sad because I remember how I would literally prepare for hours on debate topics like "Teachers are better than farmers", "Teacher's are better than Doctors " and This girl literally broke down key challenges most people face,hunger,no money and having no gas to cook a meal,just a provision ( garri) that solves that problem at that certain point, garri and water.Do I blame her? No And now a young girl already says that Garri is a the true friend of every Nigerian,Is it?Well I don't really find any fault there, it is the teacher and the mindset that brought up that debate topic.The rot is not just spreading in school debates but attention span to, especially when most people see something educational,they don't just waste time to scroll pass immediately . So if you ask me: The Olodo Uprising: Are WE rewarding Ignorance or Authenticity? Ignorance has spread like a quiet pandemic that those rewarding it has been infected without knowing because how can you tell me most average people cannot hold a conversation or discern to critically think about a topic affecting them. They'd have a phone and data to do research but prefer asking a friend about it,It all about mindset and that's where the rewards start And another fascinating thing nobody is talking about how jamb has change their cut off mark and that didn't blow up on the Internet,most people didn't know and still don't know but they knew when Pella got married,streamed it for hours, I'd say it not just us, it's not even about Pella don't get me wrong. Social media algorithm is also boosting this pandemic, 5000 views, banter in comment section and nobody is paying attention to if this topic is actually beneficial for them personally or are they just passing time and spreading irrelevant news that honestly they'd not remember in two years to come,or even a week from now? Olodo uprising is affecting people and the sad part about it,is that,they do not even know.I can't begin to state out point, abi Is it from judging financial status through the phone or cars owned? Now let's look at some creators that take time to shoot content,some actually work days to put everything together and form beautiful piece of Art. How relevant is this effort to this generation?Does that matter?Is success and wins something that requires you to skip the process and reward the outcome? What's the reward exactly ,Is it Ignorance or Authenticity?
