The loneliness of being in a relationship

Nobody really talks about this kind of loneliness.

The kind where you have someone to call, but you still feel unheard.

Someone beside you at night, but somehow you still feel alone.

You talk every day. You laugh. You take pictures together. From the outside, everything looks fine.

But something feels missing.

Maybe you’ve stopped telling them about your day because they don’t really listen anymore.

Maybe you’ve stopped bringing up the things that hurt you because every conversation turns into an argument.

Or maybe you’re simply tired of asking for the same things over and over again—attention, affection, reassurance, effort.

And slowly, you learn to live with the emptiness.

That’s the scary part.

Sometimes loneliness in a relationship doesn't begin when someone stops loving you.

It begins when you stop feeling seen.

You can be deeply loved and still feel emotionally abandoned.

You can be in a relationship and still crave the kind of connection you thought the relationship would give you.

And sometimes, the hardest question isn't:

“Does this person love me?”

It's:

“Do I feel loved when I'm with them?”

Because love shouldn't only exist in someone's heart.

You should be able to feel it in the relationship.

So, let’s talk about it:

Which is worse being alone, or being with someone who makes you feel alone?
