The Road to Jericho.
<p>The Road to Jericho Is Still Crowded With Wounded Souls.</p><p><br/></p><p>One thing I found interesting about Mummy Akinnagbe during our days as teens in Anglican Sunday School was that she never focused only on the biblical aspect of a story, she always connected it to the realities of our daily lives.</p><p><br/></p><p>One story I have never forgotten is the story Jesus told about a man travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho. Somewhere along the road, he was attacked, stripped, beaten and left half dead.</p><p><br/></p><p>Perhaps the painful part was not that he was wounded, it was that people saw him wounded and continued walking.</p><p><br/></p><p>Today, some people carry wounds nobody can see, those friends who laugh but go home to cry or the guy that's quietly losing hope.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes, we are the priest and the Levite, we see people hurting, but we are too busy with our own journeys.</p><p><br/></p><p>Jesus reminds us through the Samaritan that compassion is more than feeling sorry, but bends down and gets close.</p><p><br/></p><p>May we never become so busy looking for heaven that we fail to notice people</p>
