WHEN TOMORROW FINDS A VOICE
<p>(Silence... Take a deep breath.)</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Before I speak...</p><p><br/></p><p>Permit me to borrow a page...</p><p><br/></p><p>From tomorrow.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It arrived without footsteps.</p><p><br/></p><p>Without a face.</p><p><br/></p><p>Without a name.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Yet it stood before me...</p><p><br/></p><p>Like an orphan searching for a home.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then it asked,</p><p><br/></p><p>"Who will raise me?"</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I looked around.</p><p><br/></p><p>The walls were listening.</p><p><br/></p><p>The wind carried no answer.</p><p><br/></p><p>Even history folded its arms.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because tomorrow...</p><p><br/></p><p>Has never been raised by yesterday.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It is always...</p><p><br/></p><p>Raised by the students of today.</p><p><br/></p><p>So tell me...</p><p><br/></p><p>How do we dress tomorrow in greatness,</p><p><br/></p><p>When today's classroom wear the torn garment of neglect?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>How do we teach the future to fly,</p><p><br/></p><p>When too many dreams are still learning to crawl?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>How do we celebrate knowledge,</p><p><br/></p><p>When some children still measure the distance to school with blistered feet instead of hopeful hearts?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>How do we write prosperity,</p><p><br/></p><p>When poverty keeps erasing the dreams of brilliant minds?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Ladies and gentlemen,</p><p><br/></p><p>This is not a poem of blame.</p><p><br/></p><p>This is a poem of awakening.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Because Katsina is more than a place on the map.</p><p><br/></p><p>She is a mother.</p><p><br/></p><p>A mother with fertile soil,</p><p><br/></p><p>Rich culture,</p><p><br/></p><p>Ancient wisdom,</p><p><br/></p><p>And children whose minds are brighter than the morning sun.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Yet...</p><p><br/></p><p>Even the brightest star cannot shine through a roof that never lets in light.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Too many classrooms cry for attention.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too many libraries whisper with empty shelves.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too many laboratories wait for experiments that never come.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too many gifted students carry answers...</p><p><br/></p><p>But lack the opportunity to ask the questions.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And then...</p><p><br/></p><p>There is insecurity.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The silent thief that steals not only lives,</p><p><br/></p><p>But confidence.</p><p><br/></p><p>The sound that sends books back into bags,</p><p><br/></p><p>And replaces school bells with anxious prayers.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Tell me,</p><p><br/></p><p>What becomes of a nation,</p><p><br/></p><p>When a child begins to fear the classroom more than ignorance?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>What becomes of a community,</p><p><br/></p><p>When education is interrupted by uncertainty?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Still...</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The greatest danger is not poverty.</p><p><br/></p><p>It is hopelessness.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Because poverty can empty the pocket.</p><p><br/></p><p>But hopelessness empties the soul.</p><p><br/></p><p>And a generation that stops believing...</p><p><br/></p><p>May stop becoming.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Yet I refuse to believe</p><p><br/></p><p>That the future of Katsina shall be written in fear.</p><p><br/></p><p>No!</p><p><br/></p><p>I refuse to believe</p><p><br/></p><p>That the hands created to build</p><p><br/></p><p>Will surrender to despair.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Because I have seen students...</p><p><br/></p><p>Who study beneath trees,</p><p><br/></p><p>Yet dream beyond skyscrapers.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I have seen young minds</p><p><br/></p><p>Who read borrowed books</p><p><br/></p><p>As though they owned the libraries of the world.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I have seen determination</p><p><br/></p><p>Walk into examination halls</p><p><br/></p><p>Wearing worn-out sandals,</p><p><br/></p><p>Yet leave with first-class dreams.</p><p><br/></p><p>That...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is the strength of a student.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>You see,</p><p><br/></p><p>A student is not merely someone who attends school.</p><p><br/></p><p>A student is possibility wearing a uniform.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>A student is tomorrow disguised as today.</p><p><br/></p><p>A student is a seed.</p><p><br/></p><p>Do not laugh at a seed.</p><p><br/></p><p>For forests once looked exactly like that.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Do not underestimate an idea.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because every great invention</p><p><br/></p><p>Was once a thought no bigger than a heartbeat.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Every hospital.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every bridge.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every innovation.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every leader.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every solution.</p><p><br/></p><p>Was first carried inside the imagination of a student.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>So if we truly desire</p><p><br/></p><p>A knowledge-driven Katsina,</p><p><br/></p><p>Then let us feed curiosity.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not ignorance.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Let us reward creativity.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not mediocrity.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Let us build classrooms</p><p><br/></p><p>Where questions are celebrated,</p><p><br/></p><p>Because every question carries the possibility of discovery.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And innovation?</p><p><br/></p><p>Innovation is not magic.</p><p><br/></p><p>Innovation is simply courage</p><p><br/></p><p>Meeting opportunity.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It is refusing to ask,</p><p><br/></p><p>"Why has nobody done this?"</p><p><br/></p><p>Instead asking,</p><p><br/></p><p>"Why can't I?"</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It is seeing problems</p><p><br/></p><p>Not as walls,</p><p><br/></p><p>But as invitations to create doors.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Imagine a Katsina</p><p><br/></p><p>Where students develop technologies</p><p><br/></p><p>That helps farmers harvest more.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Where young engineers design machines</p><p><br/></p><p>That reduces hardship.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Where medical researchers discover solutions.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Where entrepreneurs create businesses</p><p><br/></p><p>That employs thousands.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Where writers preserve our stories.</p><p><br/></p><p>Where teachers shape noble character.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Where every child understands</p><p><br/></p><p>That education is not just the key.</p><p><br/></p><p>Education is the hand</p><p><br/></p><p>Holding the key.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>But hear me clearly.</p><p><br/></p><p>The responsibility does not belong to students alone.</p><p><br/></p><p>Government...</p><p><br/></p><p>Government!</p><p><br/></p><p>Continue investing in education.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Teachers...</p><p><br/></p><p>Continue lighting minds.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Parents...</p><p><br/></p><p>Continue believing in your children.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Communities...</p><p><br/></p><p>Protect every school.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because it takes an entire society</p><p><br/></p><p>To raise one educated child.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And one educated child</p><p><br/></p><p>Can transform an entire society.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Dear co students...</p><p><br/></p><p>The future is not waiting for you,</p><p><br/></p><p>The future is watching you.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Every page you read today...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is another brick.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every skill you learn...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is another foundation.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Every act of discipline...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is another pillar.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every dream you protect...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is another window through which hope shall enter Katsina.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Do not allow social media to replace your purpose.</p><p><br/></p><p>Do not allow shortcuts to steal your destiny.</p><p><br/></p><p>Do not allow memes to cloud your reasonings </p><p><br/></p><p>Do not exchange your future</p><p><br/></p><p>For temporary applause.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because history</p><p><br/></p><p>Never remember those who merely complained.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>History remembers</p><p><br/></p><p>Those who created change.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>One day,</p><p><br/></p><p>The child sitting quietly in today's classroom</p><p><br/></p><p>May become the doctor who saves thousands.</p><p><br/></p><p>The engineer who connects communities.</p><p><br/></p><p>The teacher who inspires generations.</p><p><br/></p><p>The scientist who solves impossible problems.</p><p><br/></p><p>The governor who serves with integrity.</p><p><br/></p><p>The poet</p><p><br/></p><p>Who reminds a nation</p><p><br/></p><p>That words can build what weapons never could.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And when that day comes,</p><p><br/></p><p>May history say</p><p><br/></p><p>That this generation</p><p><br/></p><p>Choose books over bullets.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Knowledge over ignorance.</p><p><br/></p><p>Innovation over excuses.</p><p><br/></p><p>Unity over division.</p><p><br/></p><p>Hope over fear.</p><p><br/></p><p>And purpose over comfort.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>So let tomorrow come.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not as a stranger.</p><p><br/></p><p>But as a child</p><p><br/></p><p>Raised by our sacrifices.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Let tomorrow arrive</p><p><br/></p><p>Not asking,</p><p><br/></p><p>"Who will raise me?"</p><p><br/></p><p>But declaring,</p><p><br/></p><p>"I was raised by students who refused to surrender."</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Students</p><p><br/></p><p>Who believed that every lesson mattered.</p><p><br/></p><p>Who believed that every challenge carried a hidden opportunity.</p><p><br/></p><p>Who believed that Katsina deserved more than survival.</p><p><br/></p><p>She deserved greatness.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And so...</p><p><br/></p><p>To every student listening,</p><p><br/></p><p>Carry your books</p><p><br/></p><p>Like a farmer carries precious seeds.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Carry your dreams</p><p><br/></p><p>Like a mother carries her newborn.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Carry your knowledge</p><p><br/></p><p>Like a lamp on a dark night.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Because somewhere ahead,</p><p><br/></p><p>A generation you may never meet</p><p><br/></p><p>Is already depending on the decisions you make today.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>This...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is our moment.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>This...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is our responsibility.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>This...</p><p><br/></p><p>Is our voice.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And when tomorrow finally speaks,</p><p><br/></p><p>May it speak</p><p><br/></p><p>In the language of educated minds.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In the accent of innovation.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the confidence of resilient students.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the prosperity of a united Katsina.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Because tomorrow...</p><p><br/></p><p>Does not build itself.</p><p><br/></p><p>thank you </p><p><br/></p><p>We build it.</p><p><br/></p><p>One student.</p><p><br/></p><p>One dream.</p><p><br/></p><p>One courageous step at a time.</p><p><br/></p><p>Thank you.</p>
