Who/What Exactly Is Society?
<p>We often say, “<em>Society is against this.</em>” “<em>Society did this</em>.” “<em>It’s because of society.</em>”</p><p><br/></p><p>But have we ever stopped to ask ourselves: <strong>what exactly is society?</strong> <strong>Who is this society we constantly blame?</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Is society not simply us, in another form?</p><p><br/></p><p>Perhaps “society” has become a convenient shield—something we hide behind to justify our actions, beliefs, and expectations without having to take responsibility for them.</p><p><br/></p><p>We condemn society for things that we, as individuals, collectively create and uphold.</p><p><br/></p><p>Society is not some distant force watching us from the outside.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Society is us</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>And maybe the uncomfortable truth is that when we condemn society, we're sometimes condemning a reflection of ourselves.</p><p><br/></p>
