A child kept alive when he shouldn’t have been.</p><p>A child who does not stay where he is born.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe it was just a name.</p><p><br/></p><p>Or maybe, without knowing it, they had already said what his life would become.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was not there, but I know the night.</p><p><br/></p><p>August 8th. The air in that house sat heavy, the way Nigerian nights do. Thick heat. Thick silence. Like something was waiting.</p><p><br/></p><p>A kerosene lamp threw orange light against the walls. Four women moved around the bed like they had done this before. Like women always have.</p><p><br/></p><p>She was the second wife.</p><p><br/></p><p>That already tells you enough.</p><p><br/></p><p>She came into that compound thinking she had found somewhere to stay. Somewhere that would hold her. But some places don’t open for you. They just make space and watch how long you last.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stayed.</p><p><br/></p><p>She learned how to exist without taking up too much room. Learned where to stand. When to speak. When not to.</p><p><br/></p><p>And then she pushed him into the world.</p><p><br/></p><p>They called him Moses.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe someone in that room understood something she did not say out loud.</p><p><br/></p><p>She held him for two years.</p><p><br/></p><p>Two years of learning a face she knew she would leave behind.</p><p><br/></p><p>Two years of carrying something she could not keep.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then she left.</p><p><br/></p><p>Quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>The kind of leaving that does not ask to be stopped.</p><p><br/></p><p>Would he remember her?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>

The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.

rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.

Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.

Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.

Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
