Adult Stuff or Just Talent? School Play Got People Talking

Some mins ago I came across a video of some primary school kids around the ages 3-6 that had people talking..

So, this wasn't actually a stage play.. the kids just spoke to the camera one after the other from different locations but im guessing they could hear each other.

One girl was asked to act "dying for Romeo" in her school drama but her reply was, "Why should I die for Romeo? Let Romeo die for me let me take his property".

Her friend cut in: "Ahah, its just drama".

She replied: "Its not drama. Im just in year one, what will happen when I reach university? Romeo should die for me."

Another clip; She was arguing with her friend about the importance of money, but her friend insisted that education was more important.

She asked her friend, "Are you educated?", "Yes".

"If you're educated, can you help me with money?".

"In the future I'll give you money."

"Is it in the future I'm going to collect the money?!"

In my opinion, it was just a short, funny clip that had kids just playing with dialogue.

But the reaction from the comment session was mixed..

Lets say, "The Proud Parents"..

Most people in the comment happily praised the children's confidence and acting skills, encouraging the school to build up their talent while they were still young, and also complimenting the schools' curriculum for adding Art and Drama into their studies.

But the criticism came just as fast..

The "Team Serious People"

Some said the kids were doing "adult stuff".

One actually compared it to the children in China "building drones" at that age.

Others said the school shouldn't let kids talk about money, relationships, or property.

For many, it was proof that creativity, music, and drama in the curriculum was helping the kids express themselves.

Whereas, the others found it very... disturbing.

My take on this is that it is a school play, and definitely under the teachers' guidance. Part of art and drama lessons. The point is to teach the kids expression, confidence, humour, and teamwork.

Calling a creative play such as that "adult stuff" is just actually a bit concerning.

They were learning to speak, at the same time, act, and think on camera, clearly stopping future "camera-shy", or "stage fright" individuals when they are grown.

That's a skill they are learning happily.

Maybe the issue isn't even what the children did, probably just people with narrow mindset that turns positive, talent-building moments into something negative.

Let kids be kids. Let them play, create, and be confident. That's how future actors, writers, comedians, and leaders start.

If we keep calling everything "adult stuff", we'll probably be the reason our kids cant express themselves.
