<p>Dear lord, father of mankind;</p><p>I come humbly at your feet</p><p>With a heart full of burden,</p><p>That I may find my lost peace.</p><p></p><p>Save mum from Daddy's grip,</p><p>And from heavy punch let her be free.</p><p>Make her so dumb in order to save </p><p>Her face from Daddy's wrist.</p><p></p><p>Soften dad's heart, forgive his foolish ways.</p><p>Let his hand be weak to war,</p><p>Let his finger forget to punch,</p><p>Lest he be clothed in blue robe.</p><p></p><p>I did not forget aunty Labeke;</p><p>The orphan girl living down the street,</p><p>Do not let her go astray , Cos I saw her</p><p>Wear a skimpy dress beside the brothel.</p><p></p><p>Uncle Lekan is not out of it.</p><p>Let him desist in chasing everything on skirt,</p><p>Lest he sit on Delilah's lap</p><p>And got his future truncated.</p><p></p><p>Dear lord, father of mankind.</p><p>My petitions laid I at thy feet,</p><p>Hoping with the assurance that</p><p>I will find my peace one more time.</p><p></p>
