GIRL, YOU'RE NOT “JUST CHILLING.” YOU'RE DELAYING YOUR LIFE.

GIRL, YOU'RE NOT “JUST CHILLING.” YOU'RE DELAYING YOUR LIFE.

You're 21.

You wake up, grab your phone, and start scrolling.

One hour becomes three.

You watch girls your age making money.

Someone just launched a business.

Another girl learned tech and got her first job.

Someone is freelancing.

Someone is building a personal brand.

Someone is travelling.

And you?

You tell yourself:

“I'm still young. I have time.”

So you scroll again.

You save a video about learning a skill.

You bookmark a course.

You screenshot a business idea.

You watch another motivational video.

And then you do absolutely nothing.

Girl… that's the problem.

You're not lacking information.

You're postponing action.

And I know because I've done it too.

That feeling of “I'll start next month.”

“Let me finish this first.”

“I'm still young.”

“I'll take life seriously when I'm older.”

But here's something I wish more young women understood:

Your twenties are not a waiting room.

Nobody is saying you should have your entire life figured out at 21.

You don't need to be rich.

You don't need to have your dream career.

You don't need to know exactly who you'll become.

But you need to START.

Start learning.

Start building.

Start experimenting.

Start saving.

Start developing yourself.

Start that skill you've been talking about for six months.

Because the girl you will be at 25 is being shaped by what you're repeatedly doing at 21.

And no, I'm not telling you to stop having fun.

Go out.

Fall in love.

Make mistakes.

Enjoy your youth.

Rest.

But don't confuse enjoying your youth with wasting your youth.

There's a difference.

You don't want to reach 25 and realize you spent four years watching other people build the life you kept saying you would start building.

And please don't let social media deceive you.

You're seeing someone's results.

You don't see the years they spent learning while you were scrolling.

You don't see the nights they struggled.

You don't see the failed attempts.

You don't see how early they started.

So don't compare your chapter 1 to someone's chapter 10.

Use their story as proof that starting early is possible—not as proof that you're behind.

If you're reading this and you're in your early twenties, ask yourself honestly:

“What am I building right now?”

Not what are you planning.

Not what are you researching.

Not what are you saving on Pinterest.

What are you actually doing?

Because sometimes the biggest thing standing between you and the woman you want to become isn't lack of opportunity.

It's the sentence:

“I still have time.”

Yes, you have time.

But time is only valuable when you use it.

So close the app.

Pick one thing.

And start.

Your future self is watching what you do with today.
