Happy birthday to me. 🄳

I am the girl who used to hide behind shadows.

The one who dreaded her own existence.

The one who used to refuse to look directly at cameras.

The one who wanted to identify as "unknown"

I don't shrink, I fade

I don't leave, I vanish like mist

I blur into the horizon, melt into silence.

I drift far away.

Far away from the world,

With time,

I found myself curled up in an empty spaceĀ

A cage I call home

I made solitude my home and convinced myself I felt safe there.

But No,

It wasn't safety,

It was fear,

It was insecurity

It was cowardice,

I was afraid of who I am meant to be.

The pressure of my dreams were overwhelmingĀ

The weight of the crown I wished to bear sink my feet deep in the ground.

Soon, I stopped tryingĀ

I stopped believing.

I told myself maybe I wasn't meant for this

Maybe this dream isn't right.

I tried to let go, but my dreams were too beautiful.

The future I was painting was a masterpiece.

My art looked me in the eyes and whispered "you won't let go, would you?"

I dared to say it, I almost said the words " No, you're not meant to be"

But these words got stuck in my throat.

My hands trembled while holding my dreams firmĀ

I hung on to my blue mirage in the dessert even when it seemed unreal

I couldn't let go.

Then came the whisper,

"I can do it", " it's not impossible", "it's achievable"

It echoed, Echoes of assurance.

Silver droplets blurred my visionĀ

But even at that moment, my dreams stood out.

They were clear,

They were surreal,

They were beautiful.

Now,

With shoulders squared and eyes stitched to the horizonĀ

I walk as though my dreams have began calling me home.

They call it confidence.

But it isn't noise.

It isn't the loudness of my voice or the certainty of my footsteps.

It is quieter than that.

It is waking every morning with dreams too large for yesterday's version of me, and choosing to believe I can still grow into them.

I have made peace with beginnings.

With awkward attempts.

With failing without becoming a failure.

Because mountains are not conquered in a single stride they surrender to the feet that keep returning.

I trust the person I am becoming.

Not because I know every answer,

but because I know I will learn.

Not because the road is easy,

but because my spirit has survived harder paths.

My dreams do not frighten me anymore.

They call me forward.

So I wear confidence the way the dawn wears light

not to prove itself to the world,

but because shining is simply what it was made to do.

I am not waiting for permission to believe in myself.

I have already decided that the life I imagine deserves someone brave enough to pursue it.

And every day,

I become that someone.

Happy birthday to me.

Lumi šŸ¦‹šŸ–¤
