You know, one of the things I realised is that my parents are humans too, and this is their first time. They are not heroes, they were once like me.

I used to think my parents should be perfect. They should know and understand all things but experience and growing up taught me it isn't so. And guess what? I will be a parent one day too.

I laugh every time I remember that my children will think so of me too— that I know it all, I know what to do in every situation, I can't be scared, and so on… The same way we see our parents until we understand things better.

I had to understand that my parents are humans like me. They are still figuring some things out. They can get scared, they can get confused, they can make mistakes, they can give wrong answers… Why? Because they are not perfect. They are humans, and they don't know it all. Nobody knows it all.

Whenever my parents offended me, I got upset and would say, “Do they not know that is not how they should do things? They are the parents; they should know that's not how to do things.” But there I was, quite wrong.

I figured that parents love their children and will always advise and treat them based on the best of their knowledge. Your parents cannot do anything more than what they know.

Whenever I watch movies and see where a mother led her child astray with the kind of advice she gave, I realise that she did those things from her level of knowledge. I can't do more than I know. That's why we are asked to improve our knowledge by getting more informed.

Information is really key. Only if our parents knew more than they were taught, or more than they had experienced, don't you think they would respond better in decision-making and parenting as a whole?

Don't always judge your parents when they do things at the level of their knowledge. If you think their response is not right, you can inform them in the kindest and most respectful manner.

Not every piece of advice from a parent is the right advice.

You too. Be informed.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
