MY LITTLE BOOK OF RANDOMS: Ep. 2

What is that saying about time healing all wounds? Is it really true or, did time, in my case , stop moving after the painful end of a relationship I had thought would be crowned the glowing title of "happily ever after"?

Years have passed, a long enough time to heal the injury only heartbreaks bring, to put the kibosh on the bleeding. That was what I thought; that along with time, I had moved on from the grave of a dead relationship.

I happened to bump into her, my lover now turned ex and no, the emotions that crawled out to the surface did nothing to conceal the raw and ugly truth: time really did a shabby job with me.

It was resurrection for the hurt I thought was put to peaceful rest. I didn't move on, obviously so. I didn't heal because, the moment we locked eyes, I was undone.

I'm faced with the shocking realization that moving on doesn't necessarily mean a change of environment, that moving on is not burying oneself under a pile of work. While it's true years have come and gone, I find that I am, matteroffactly, still at the same spot, emotionally.

But I am glad for that encounter because now, true healing can begin. Now, I don't need to run away as many people do but face the monster called pain. This time, this wound must heal until the pain-inspired anger fades away because, for as long as I stay mad, I stay stuck.
