The biggest mistake one can make in life is looking down on and underestimating oneself. This act makes success more difficult to attain, regardless of the availability of the resources needed. Everyone has the ability to achieve success depending on the effort and determination they invest in it. Determination accounts for 50 percent of success, while the remaining 50 percent depends on effort and hard work. As a result, the current issue between Portable and Carter Efe serves as a good example.

The tension between Portable, a musician, and Carter Efe, a well-known Nigerian streamer, is part of a broader pattern of clashes among Nigerian entertainers, often driven by ego, money, and public attention. The situation quickly escalated into a social media feud, with both sides exchanging insults and trying to gain public sympathy. This issue later led to a boxing match, where several individuals and personalities placed bets on the fight.

Relating this insight to the issue between Portable and Carter Efe, Portable is known to be outspoken. He bragged and claimed he would win the fight because he had won two similar fights before, providing evidence by showing his two belts. Many people supported and advocated for Portable due to his previous achievements and experience in boxing. He frequently went online before the fight, warning that Carter Efe should withdraw to avoid injury and disgrace.

Carter Efe, on the other hand, focused on training and strategizing on how to win the fight despite widespread criticism. He strongly believed in himself and never underestimated his abilities. He remained determined, prepared, and well-trained ahead of the fight. To some extent, some of his friends doubted him and advised him to withdraw, but he refused because of his determination. Fortunately, he won the fight and defeated Portable in the end.

The rationale behind Carter Efe’s success in the fight was his determination and refusal to underestimate himself despite widespread criticism. He worked harder, believed in himself, and avoided distractions, which led to his success. Therefore, undermining oneself makes success more difficult to achieve and represents one of the biggest mistakes in life.

✍️SAUBAN MAHMUD BOLAJI

Best Content
We give out cash prizes to 7 people with the best insights in the past month. The 7 winners are picked
by an in-house selection process.

and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.

Monthly Score
The Top Monthly Contributors ranking is a monthly metric indicating how users respond to your posts, not just how many you publish.

1
How strong your best post is —
Your highest-scoring post this month carries the most weight. One great post can take you far.
2
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
We also look at the average score of all your posts. If your work keeps getting good reactions, you get a boost.
3
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
Posting more helps — but only a little.
Extra posts give a small bonus that grows slowly, so quality always matters more than quantity.
In simple terms:
A great post beats many ignored posts
Consistently engaging posts beat one lucky hit
Spamming low-engagement posts won't help
Tips, comments, and upvotes from others matter most
This ranking is designed to reward
Thoughtful, high-quality posts
Real engagement from the community
Consistency over time — without punishing you for posting again
The Top Monthly Contributors leaderboard reflects what truly resonates, not just who posts the most.
