The Illusion Of "When I Grow" As children we weren't allowed access into certain places and conversation because it was strictly for grown-ups -very valid. Maybe due to lack of specification of how broad the concept of growth is, we just assumed it had to do with the basics, becoming bigger physically, reaching a certain age and being able to finally hold a conversation -coherently, we didn't know that such a thing as a coherent fool exists. Hunger pangs and appetite for food makes us eat while thirst hints at lack of enough fluid -so we eat and drink and in the eating and drinking we grow physically? No, if we dont consume the right things, in the right quantity, we could fall sick, have stunted growth -maybe thats why Im short- and in severe cases have deficiencies that might lead to death if not properly managed.The same with the ignorance of childhood, it hints at the need for knowledge, it absolutely isnt automatic as with the physical growth -it takes its own intentionality with the right set of consumption to make fully equipped adults. If there's no consumption of productive information there'd be no development of mentally capable individuals. I do not mean in just one field that is highly commended by society, financial excellence or even institutional excellence, I phrased it this way because you could graduate with a first class from a prestigious institute and lack A LOT!The quality of education that a person possesses goes beyond their certification, it is evident in their becoming, how they perceive life, handle relationships, tough conversations -emotional intelligence, psychological intelligence, knowing when to touch and refrain from touching, physical intelligence?Quite unfortunately, a lot of adults are very deficient in that aspect, malnourished and absolutely incapable of doing some very key mental work that leads to a fruitful existence. We need to re-evaluate the metrics of determining the maturity of individuals in society, we have a lot of eloquent above eighteen, rich, influential and certified children that need guidance, strict guidance!Those other things are good but we cannot continue to have immature, adamant, cocky, loud individuals who think they've arrived but haven't even started. Its sad to see a lot of young adults be narcissists, manipulators and just horrible people to co-exist with, they make living unbearable, like humanity pollution.If you're one of them, lets start with the foundation, repeat after me: Jesus, I accept you into my life as my Lord and savior acknowledging your death, crucifixion, burial and resurrection so I can be a whole individual, I surrender to you my life and existence, take charge, Amen!!Now you have a personal guide, the Holy Spirit to assist you through life and you should study the word of God so that you can behold as in a mirror who you should become.
