SUNRISE VS SUNSET
<p>Sunrise said,</p><p>Why do you look worried, my friend?</p><p>Why wear another person’s colors</p><p>when your own light was enough?</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset laughed softly,</p><p>Because humans are strange.</p><p>They chase borrowed stars</p><p>then cry when darkness finds them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunrise stretched across the sky,</p><p>painting courage on the morning walls.</p><p>I wake every day to the same lesson,</p><p>begin as yourself.</p><p>No dawn asks permission to shine.</p><p>No rooster rehearses its voice.</p><p>Why then do people apologize</p><p>for existing?</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset shook its orange head.</p><p>And I arrive each evening</p><p>to witness the damage.</p><p>Souls returning tired,</p><p>hearts dressed in costumes,</p><p>faces exhausted from smiling lies.</p><p>Many spent the whole day</p><p>being everyone else.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunrise said,</p><p>Comparison is a thief.</p><p>I rise in gold,</p><p>you fall in crimson,</p><p>yet neither of us competes.</p><p>Tell them that.</p><p>My hour is mine.</p><p>Yours is yours.</p><p>Beauty does not wrestle beauty.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset replied,</p><p>Yet they measure their worth</p><p>with another person’s clock.</p><p>They see someone blooming at noon</p><p>and curse their own midnight roots.</p><p>Foolishness.</p><p>Seeds do not shout underground,</p><p>but they are still becoming.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunrise leaned closer.</p><p>And love?</p><p>What of those who vanish inside it?</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset sighed like a tired poet.</p><p>I have watched many disappear.</p><p>They call cages commitment,</p><p>call silence peace,</p><p>call self-erasure romance.</p><p>But even I, who fade daily,</p><p>never lose myself.</p><p>I only change position.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunrise thundered gently,</p><p>Did you hear that?</p><p>Even departure keeps identity.</p><p>So why should a human soul</p><p>be misplaced for applause?</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset smiled.</p><p>Tell them this too:</p><p>When I leave,</p><p>I do not die.</p><p>I prepare for your arrival.</p><p>Endings are not funerals,</p><p>sometimes they are doorways.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunrise turned to you now.</p><p>Yes you, standing there</p><p>with doubt in your pocket.</p><p>Lose fear.</p><p>Lose pretending.</p><p>Lose the addiction to approval.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sunset added,</p><p>But do not lose yourself.</p><p>Because when the crowd goes home</p><p>and the mirrors speak honestly,</p><p>you must recognize your own eyes.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then both skies spoke together,</p><p>One from the east,</p><p>one from the west:</p><p><br/></p><p>Be light in your own hour.</p><p>That is enough.</p>
