The Eight Floor (Chapter 3)
<p>Chapter 3</p><p>I pressed 3.</p><p><br/></p><p>When the elevator reached the third floor, I hurried to room 3.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was empty.</p><p><br/></p><p>I stood there for a moment, staring at the room.</p><p><br/></p><p>Normally, I would have been too disturbed to sleep after something like that.</p><p><br/></p><p>But I was exhausted.</p><p><br/></p><p>I lay down.</p><p><br/></p><p>Within two minutes, I was asleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>The next morning while preparing to leave I couldn't get the previous day out of my mind. </p><p><br/></p><p>I went to the receptionist to ask her about it.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Hey miss, why doesn't anyone go to the eight floor" </p><p><br/></p><p>"Eight Floor?"</p><p><br/></p><p>"Yes. I didn't quite understand your handwriting yesterday so I thought Floor 3 was Floor 8 and I went there but if not for the well lighted hallway, I would have thought it was abandoned. No sounds or music or feeling of people. No extra lights. You know what I'm  saying. Like I mean..."</p><p><br/></p><p>"Wait. There isn't an eight floor"</p><p><br/></p><p>"What are you saying I went there yesterday. I took the elevator there"</p><p><br/></p><p>"There are only 7 floors and seven buttons"</p><p><br/></p><p>I looked at her bewildered. The wave. The taps. I did go to the eight floor and saw something.. someone </p><p><br/></p><p>Seeing my face she said, "Come with me"</p><p><br/></p><p>I followed her and she took me the elevator and there were the buttons </p><p>1.. </p><p>2...</p><p>3...</p><p>4...</p><p>5...</p><p>6...</p><p>7.</p><p>There was no eight floor</p><p><br/></p>
