TO MY COY MOREMÍ

‎If we have unlimited time,

‎like the days of Noah,

‎I would court and love you forever.

‎I would use the donkey of my years,

‎worshiping and adoring you.

‎

‎A hundred years to adore your overall beauty that stings all wandering eyes

‎Forty years to admire your gaze, for one wink gladdens my soul

‎Fifty years to caress your forehead, the space there makes you uniquely beautiful.

‎Thirty years for each orange upon your chest.

‎And eighty years to bow before your feet and drown in the ocean of your beauty

‎

‎But time, like a bird, flies,

‎And I can hear its wings flapping behind us.

‎I can hear the chariot of permanent sleep hurrying nearby to take us away.

‎

‎Therefore let's live now,

‎When the youthful hue clings to our skin like hair to head.

‎Let's love now, while the our eyes still know beauty,

‎While our hands still remember the warmth

‎For the day is running away from us.

Though we cannot command sun,

Let's make a little portion our daylight burn brightly.

‎This is adaptation of the “To the coy mistress” by Andrew Marvell

‎—@Olarewaju
