Trapped
<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>They took from me what I called joy, hope, expectations, and success. They left me bare in the town square.</p><p><br/></p><p>I screamed and shouted, but to no avail. I was left to be taken hostage by the enemy.</p><p><br/></p><p>Heart pounding, breath seizing, I didn't know what to expect.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Where am I?"</p><p><br/></p><p>"Where are you taking me?"</p><p><br/></p><p>"Please, let me go. Let me go."</p><p><br/></p><p>"Help! Anybody!"</p><p><br/></p><p>But in the twinkle of an eye, we were gone.</p><p><br/></p><p>The clouds were thick. The moon disappeared. There was nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.</p><p><br/></p><p>I couldn't see anything. It was pitch black.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then I realized.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was trapped.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not just anywhere.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was trapped in an escape room with no doors and no way to escape.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was already too late before I realized that I was trapped in my own mind.</p><p><br/></p><p>Trapped not just anywhere, but in a prison of my own thoughts.</p>
