A call to redemption

"You can’t be angry at God," they told me.

"They don’t understand," I said.

Of course they didn’t.

No one can bridge the gap between a Father and His child

no outsider can force reconciliation. Both must be ready.

He was always ready, waiting for my ice cold heart to melt.

But I was stubborn. Angry.

And when we’re angry, we make rash decisions.

I was foolish enough to think I could do life on my own.

My ruin began the day I decided I knew it all.

I turned away from the Redeemer and chased redemption down the path of destruction.

Woe I brought upon myself out of ignorance.

And still, He didn’t give up on me.

The salvation I thought I found couldn’t satisfy the hunger within.

Food turned to ash in my mouth.

The wind no longer kissed my face.

The warmth of human touch became distant.

I was the very definition of wasted.

My heart grew darker as the clouds hid the sun.

I nurtured my demons and hid from my Father.

“He can’t help me,” I thought.

My soul withered to dust.

The bright spirit of youth died.

Anger faded. Hate vanished. Stubbornness dissolved.

And then came hunger , a hunger for the Spirit, for love, for Him.

"He's always waiting for you," the words lingered in my mind as tears streamed down my face.

I fell to my knees, hands folded, head bowed to the ground.

What a terrible mistake it had been to think I could do this alone.

"Father…" I called softly, trembling, as I wept.
