Mpama, a beacon in the flame.</p><p>Onowu of our people, steady and wise,</p><p>A pillar of truth beneath open skies.</p><p>Through the thunder of war, you stood tall,</p><p>A village’s strength, a father to all.</p><p>From stories of courage, from battles you won,</p><p>You lit in my heart an unquenchable sun.</p><p>"Chimerenka" you always called me, "boys should know how to play football" you'd always tease me so I had to learn how to play. 🤧</p><p>You taught me strength when the night was long,</p><p>You gave me the voice to carry on strong.</p><p>In every page and each dream I pursue,</p><p>I find my beginning and ending in you.</p><p>Your voice was a river, gentle yet deep,</p><p>Guarding the wisdom I carry and keep.</p><p>In football fields and the words that I write,</p><p>You live as my guide, my enduring light.</p><p>From ashes of sorrow, you rose with grace,</p><p>Time cannot fade your honored place.</p><p>Onowu, my grandfather, ever my guide,</p><p>In every step, you walk beside.</p><p>May the earth rest softly where you now lie,</p><p>May angels receive you beyond the sky.</p><p>Till we meet again where no shadows remain,</p><p>Your love in my heart will forever remain.</p>
